Good morning,
So far I have not had any mouth sores, thank goodness, and have not been sick at my stomach. My kidneys are going great also. I do, however, have some headaches and some bone pain again. At this point it is hard to tell about the headaches. They are not as bad as the migraines were but I'm not on the full dose again of the oral chemo but did increase some yesterday. I also had a LP yesterday and it felt different than before. That could also have the headache. The top of my spine is hurting again in the same place before I was admitted and right before I was discharged. I'm waiting, as always, for doc, just any doc to come and talk to me about this, I took quite a bit of pain meds yesterday with no results except a tummy ache. I have meetings to conduct and people to visit .... don't throw me down Clark.
Thank you for your prayers. Heather
WELCOME
Hello,
Welcome to my Blog! Yes, I have been in the fight of my life against Leukemia, insomnia, depression, side effects of medications, molting skin, pooping my pants and this list goes on.... however, I still love my life, and that's what this blog is about Real Life. I hope to meet others who trails have brought them closer to the Lord and molded them for the next step in God's will. In January 2011 , my family, physician, and Be the Match was featured on a Fox 5 news story about bone marrow donors and transplants. In March, I was interviewed on Atlanta and Company along with Be the Match. I was chosen to sing the national anthem at the Be the Match Run last year and will also be doing it this year, along with some other songs. My team, no thanks to me, raised over $4,000 and raised more than any other team! Please join my team this year or consider donating here at the Run those Stem cells out ! Team I was also chosen for a patient advocacy panel for the international council meeting at Be the Match in MN in November. How exciting!! I ended up not being able to attend due to the relapse. I had hoped I could help raise awareness about how easy it is to sign up to be a donor and how many people need your help! Please go to bethematch.org and sign up! I was able to have my bone marrow (same as stem cell) transplant at the end of March thanks to a 22 year old donor oversees that I hope to meet her one day. As I came up on my 6th month mark and continued to add more normal activities to our lives, I relapsed, meaning that the that the cancer had mutated and the leukemia came back. I spent 2 more weeks at Emory and some other nights here and there and now I'm on a drug from the FDA. I have a compassion waiver so I am able to get it. I have to take it day by day sometimes hour by hour. Time keeps moving and my little girl is growing up. I'm lucky that I'm getting to see it. I continue to praise God for his wonderful blessings he has shown us including my wonderful husband Jonathan, baby girl Evalyn Rose, supportive family and friend, great medical care, new readers, and the chance to make a big difference, even if that means being a Lab Rat.
God Bless You!
Please read, comment, enjoy, learn, grow, LOVE LIFE.
Most Recently I have started a booth at a local consignment store with handmade jewelry from friends, crafts, and my own art from recycled materials. It is called DAY by DAY. God was very clear with me starting this. Please look over to the right of blog and click on Day by Day to see some pictures. I'm just getting started but I am taking orders from people that I know. You will be able to personalize items, etc. I just haven't decided how I will be selling them via internet yet. But for now, the jewelry is at A Weekend A'fair in Athens, GA and will hopefully be at some stores downtown soon.
Heather, it truly burdens my heart that you are suffering. But I also know God is very purposeful & methodical...He never allows things to happen, just because, with no rhyme or reason. He is a good God that loves us very much. As much as we love our children, so much more does He love us. I pray for your COMPLETE recovery, giving God all of the praise & glory that He is going to bless me with being a witness to His miracle work in you. This I know for sure, the holy & loving spirit of God is moving & working in the lives of so many right now. That doesn't mean that, just because you are going through the storm, He's not moving on your behalf. It's actually quite the opposite. Praise God for the storm, for the trials & tribulations because it is in those times that His greatest works are revealed & glorified. I stand firm in agreement with you & know that you are loved, even from a distance or through a computer. His WORD will NOT come back void & it will do what it released to do! Much love in Christ & keep up the fight & the faith. Girl, I got your back. I pray, in the name of Jesus, that everything that is not of the Holy Spirit in your life be bound & I pray that only the manifestations of the Holy spirit be released to work in your life. In Jesus's precious & Holy name I pray. Amen!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Brandy! From everything thing that I have seen God do in last month, how I have grown, and the doors that are opening, I don't think I would change a thing. There are good days and bad days. But God is always good!
ReplyDeleteHeather,
ReplyDeleteI am sure you have heard this song before, but if not, it has powerful truths associated with it. The songwriter, Michael Guglielmucci had his own “illness” that I feel strongly that God healed him of. It was not the cancer he claimed to have had, but something more insidious. His motivation was for writing the song was for self glory, but God still got the glory and Michael was set free.
Remember, there is no waste in God’s economy!
It is truly ALL Grace!
Sean
Here are the words, simple, but powerful and also a link to a Hillsong concert where it was played.
Healer
You hold my every moment
You calm my raging seas
You walk with me through fire
And heal all my disease
I trust in you
I trust in you
I believe
You're my healer
I believe
You are all I need
I believe
You're my portion
I believe
You're more than enough for me
Jesus, you're all I need
Nothing is impossible for you
Nothing is impossible
Nothing is impossible for you
You hold my world in your hands

Good morning Heather! I read this is a devotional and wanted to pass it along to you:
ReplyDelete"When I'm facing a trial or difficult circumstance, I find I need a refresher course on God. I need to remind myself about the parting of the Red Sea. I need to remember the manna from heaven, how Jesus healed the blind man, and how He stilled the storm with a single word. I give myself a quick refresher course on God and His blessings to me, and that helps me surrender to Him...not my circumstances."
Love and continued prayers,
Susan Hill
