WELCOME

Hello,
Welcome to my Blog! Yes, I have been in the fight of my life against Leukemia, insomnia, depression, side effects of medications, molting skin, pooping my pants and this list goes on.... however, I still love my life, and that's what this blog is about Real Life. I hope to meet others who trails have brought them closer to the Lord and molded them for the next step in God's will. In January 2011 , my family, physician, and Be the Match was featured on a Fox 5 news story about bone marrow donors and transplants. In March, I was interviewed on Atlanta and Company along with Be the Match. I was chosen to sing the national anthem at the Be the Match Run last year and will also be doing it this year, along with some other songs. My team, no thanks to me, raised over $4,000 and raised more than any other team! Please join my team this year or consider donating here at the Run those Stem cells out ! Team I was also chosen for a patient advocacy panel for the international council meeting at Be the Match in MN in November. How exciting!! I ended up not being able to attend due to the relapse. I had hoped I could help raise awareness about how easy it is to sign up to be a donor and how many people need your help! Please go to bethematch.org and sign up! I was able to have my bone marrow (same as stem cell) transplant at the end of March thanks to a 22 year old donor oversees that I hope to meet her one day. As I came up on my 6th month mark and continued to add more normal activities to our lives, I relapsed, meaning that the that the cancer had mutated and the leukemia came back. I spent 2 more weeks at Emory and some other nights here and there and now I'm on a drug from the FDA. I have a compassion waiver so I am able to get it. I have to take it day by day sometimes hour by hour. Time keeps moving and my little girl is growing up. I'm lucky that I'm getting to see it. I continue to praise God for his wonderful blessings he has shown us including my wonderful husband Jonathan, baby girl Evalyn Rose, supportive family and friend, great medical care, new readers, and the chance to make a big difference, even if that means being a Lab Rat.
God Bless You!

Please read, comment, enjoy, learn, grow, LOVE LIFE.

Most Recently I have started a booth at a local consignment store with handmade jewelry from friends, crafts, and my own art from recycled materials. It is called DAY by DAY. God was very clear with me starting this. Please look over to the right of blog and click on Day by Day to see some pictures. I'm just getting started but I am taking orders from people that I know. You will be able to personalize items, etc. I just haven't decided how I will be selling them via internet yet. But for now, the jewelry is at A Weekend A'fair in Athens, GA and will hopefully be at some stores downtown soon.

Fun at the Farm: Playdate and First Fish

                                                                    First Fish
We had a great time with our visit with Corynne. We chilled out and listened to music, Never Shout Never, is a new band she show me, ate some choc, talked, rested, went fishing, and played with Evalyn. Corynne is such a talented young lady. She lettered in swimming this year! I always knew she was part fish, she gets that from me. Now she is growing up so fast..... I'm going to put a rock on her head as the folks say around here.

My sweet daughter Corynne came to spend the night and a day!

First time with play doe. If you haven't seen Evalyn, or heard  her, she is talking up a storm and really listening to what her mommy and everyone elses is saying. She is loving playing outside, reading, art, and lovesssssss to dance.

She got all three cars out and decided them not being parked all together was the most creative thing to do.

Corynne likes the yucky worms to fish with instead of a  the possibility of a cricket bite, which doesn't hurt.

First time fishing.... I look like that sometimes when I'm not catching anything.

Looking at her first fish!

Catfish are taking a nap.... then we went to take one, but not after  Corynne  caught a turtle and a toad.

Sisters...... Corynne reminded me of how when you catch a stick Poppa will say.... "Those are hard to clean."

Sometimes you just gotta sit down and try to feed the crickets leaves.

B for two beautiful girls.

Someone tell me how to get these videos right side up!!!

Play Date at the Cape's
We have to play it safe right now around kids due to me being in and out of the hospital and having some trips coming up. So we invited kids over to the house. We really had a great time playing in the sand, having some coffee, planting, eating healthy, going on a nature walk, got in the swing, learning about plants and we saw birds, a toad, and a other creatures. The kids got along great and the dogs were just happy to lay in the dirt or the sun. Thanks so much to you ladies for coming instead of your usually schedule. Next time we hope to try our hand at fishing or golf cart riding! Oh the parents got along great too :)

The gang, except for little Emma.
Sarah and Noah, the only boy for the day... well Wallace was  there.

Isabella, such a pretty girl... and busy busy! Chloe is her dog too.

13 years old yesterday!!! You were such a big help at the play date.

Oh to sun bathe again........

Kelley and Emma..... she is such a sweet baby and lady!

We are still awaiting the species of this toad.

Everyone got to pick a flower.... except for me of course, but I did stop and look at them.

Swinging in the Shade!

Kim and the girls. Kim and Andy help us out a lot. I think that Evalyn would live with them if she could. Last time she spent the day over there she kept calling Andy "Mr. Fun", cried when we left, and kept hugging them over and over again.

FYI-  Evalyn is 21 months today!!!!!!
