Today I read daily fast fuel again, and the lady blogged about how she has read the bible over 4 tims and used the http://dailyaudiobible.com/. I listened to some of it and liked it, i think I could listen to some while I'm doing my eye compressions. The guy has a nice voice and you can put it on you ipod too. I'll have to think about it, reading is kinda hard for me at this point. Balaam and his donkey proved to be an interesting old testesment story. The donkey talks at least so it was close to poo bear. Part of the story, the donkey is able to see the angle of the Lord and Balaam is not. Balaam beats the donkey for not obeying but fails to assess why he is not obeying. Only after he sees the angel of the Lord, he follows his directions to take a message to someone.
Numbers 22:21-23:30-
12 "I will speak only the message that the LORD puts in my mouth.”
I like this verse because how many times have we taken it upon ourselves, alone, to spread the word of the Lord, or our agenda? There are times to keep your mouth shut and there are times to open it. God will let you know when that it is. Remember there is a season for everything. The point is to be ready when he calls you to do something, whether that is mowing someones yard, meeting a need, just listening, fixing food (thank you Courtney and Mirka for dinners this week :) etc.
19 God is not a man, so he does not lie.
He is not human, so he does not change his mind.
Has he ever spoken and failed to act?
Has he ever promised and not carried it through?
He is not human, so he does not change his mind.
Has he ever spoken and failed to act?
Has he ever promised and not carried it through?
I also liked this one also... not sure what I think about not changing his mind. Jonathan brought this up in bible study once. Does prayer change God's mind, or does it just change us so that we can be in God's will? Both, I don't know. I believe in his promises, I believe in the follow through, with God and with my daughter.
Have a blessed day,
Heather
